You’ll need to visit a NSW service centre (please follow this link to find the nearest NSW Service Centre) to prove your identity, pass a Driver Knowledge Test (DKT). To apply for a learner driver licence, you must be 16 years of age or older. Please note to book a driving lesson with Nepalese Driving school you must have a Learner licence or an Valid overseas License. You must pass the DKT to get your learner licence. It is the first stage in the licensing process. The DKT is a computer-based road rules knowledge test. The Driver Knowledge Test (DKT) is a Computer-based driver knowledge test. If you’re under 25 years old, you can take the HPT after you’ve held your learner licence for at least 10 months. If you’re over 25 years old, you can take the HPT as soon as you have your learner licence and feel ready. If you haven’t passed the driving test within 15 months of passing the HPT, you’ll need to sit the HPT again. If you are 25 years of age or older you can attempt the HPT any time. Once you’ve held your learner licence for at least 10 months, you can attempt the HPT. Please note international licence holder are not required to sit for HPT. To progress from a learner driver licence to a P1 licence ( Red P), you need to first pass the HPT, then pass the driving test. The test uses real traffic situations and each clip asks you to touch the screen, when you would slow down, overtake or turn at an intersection. The test questions and situations focus on the common crash types for NSW provisional drivers. You’ll be given two clips to practice before the test begins. It aims to ensure you have enough hazard perception skills to prepare you for solo driving and progress to a P1 Red P licence. This is a computer-based touch screen test that measures your ability to recognise potentially dangerous situations on the road and respond appropriately.
